I am not very good at expressing how I feel. To anyone, whether it be a lover, a friend, a family member. It’s hard for me to admit to someone else that I feel lonely, depressed, unhappy, tired, lost, any negative emotion I’m feeling, because I feel as though I must always project this image of being “fine” and like I have everything under control. And it’s not a lack...

Life is just lovely these days. Here’s what’s been happening, according to my iPhone:

I want to run away and stay here with good people and wine and summer breezes and starry skies.
What if
“what if, instead of reacting…we stopped and took a deep breath what if, instead of losing our patience… we didn’t what if, instead of leaving a nasty comment…. we decided to encourage 5 people that day
what if, instead of rolling our eyes or letting ourselves turn cold as ice, we made the first move…and initiated something good what if, instead of using...
A reminder to just relax and enjoy life sometimes:
“So many of us live our lives as if the secret purpose is to somehow get everything done. We stay up late, get up early, avoid having fun, and keep our loved ones waiting. Often, we convince ourselves that our obsession with our ‘to do’ list is only temporary - that once we get through the list, we’ll be calm, relaxed, and...

2012
I wore hot pink pants for my first outfit of 2012 today. (Yesterday didn’t count, I wore sweatpants and slept most of the day.)
I’m hoping they set the tone for an exciting and new and different year, full of change and being true to myself.

Life has been a bit strange for the past 3 weeks because I’ve been on a hiatus from work - my regular routine has been off, I’ve actually been missing work a little (horror of horrors!), and I’ve been feeling a bit thrown for a loop. What to do with so much time off, and especially when I have no money to travel somewhere fun?
I’ve realised that I really enjoy the schedule...

New favourite blog. I stumbled upon it today (and I literally did “stumble upon” it!) and couldn’t take my eyes away for a solid half hour. At work. Oops.
Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be...

Blast from the past
{tunic: Bluenotes (old), tights: Winners; boots: Roberto Vianni; sunnies: Marc by Marc Jacobs}
These clothes are all very old. I think I bought this shirt about 6 years ago? Come to think of it, these tights are also really old, and I think they’re showing it, since they’re pretty faded! Might be time to splurge another $15 and get a new pair.
It’s kind of fun wearing old...
Just re-discovered these gems… Taken in May at the Highland Games beer garden ;)

Shorter days
{dress: H&M; sweater: Jacob; blazer: Le Chateau; tights: Simon’s (Montreal); shoes: Chinese Laundry}
I never would have thought of wearing a dress as a skirt before I started oogling at fashion blogs. This dress is a little on the short side for work, it doesn’t quite clear my finger tips when I do the shortness test, but I figured with tights on underneath, what gives?...

Sole hole
So I’ve decided that I’d really like to turn this blog into more of a fashion AND lifestyle blog. I looove fashion blogs so much, and I think the community of women out there who run them is just amazing and I want to be part of it!
I’m definitely not the most fashionable person, but I want to be pushed out of my style box a little bit, and not default to jeans and a tshirt...

Hooters
{shirt: Forever21, jeggings: Winners; boots: Roberto Vianni; necklace: Aldo Accessories}
This is my owl shirt. G calls it my hooter shirt. And he loves to say that he loves my hooters when I’m wearing it. I picked it up a couple weeks ago when I was down in Seattle and didn’t bring enough warm clothes!
I wore this outfit today to go to a craft market and then to grocery shop at...

I told you I would stay
So I’m not sure what it is with Wednesdays and me posting daily styles… Very strange. Probably because by Wednesday I’m in the swing of the week, not quite so overwhelmed, and can think a bit about what I throw on in the morning!

Hump day daily style
Oh look, it’s a daily style post! Haven’t seen one of these guys in a while…
This is my lovely balcony with the view of a construction site. It’s not so bad actually, I kinda feel like it’s an authentic city view, and they are only ever banging and making a racket when I’m at work. However, once it starts getting a little higher, it will suck - the building...

Flashback
My amazing man took my harddrive out of my completely busted laptop and I was able to recover all the files off it! So, so happy!!
A couple oldie photos that I’d forgotten about:
Ah, good memories :)
A zine by any other name would smell as sweet
I love magazines. And so I think online magazines are kind of da bomb diggity, because they’re free and environmentally friendly. (What could be better?!) And yet I never read online magazines. (And are they still called zines? Or is that term a little too 2000?)
I happened across these 3 online magazines lately, and they are pretty awesome. Now all I need is an iPad so I can read them on...
I had a lovely, lovely lazy long weekend. Holy alliteration there ;) I had no real plans, and that was exactly how I wanted it - the days seemed endlessly long. There was time for book reading, and coffees on outdoor patios, and walks by the water, and lying in the grass. And of course a few errands and hitting the gym and cooking yummy meals.
It certainly is nice to stay in the city for a...

iphoneography
I was listening to a TWIP podcast the other day, and was introduced to the concept of iphoneography - literally just photos taken with your iphone, or other mobile phone. I didn’t even know this sort of thing existed in such a defined form, but of course it does - your phone is on you all the time, photographers are continually seeking new and different ways of taking photos, and the iphone...

Things I LOVE about my new apartment:
the laundry machine. In my suite. That I don’t have to insert coins into. Doing a load of laundry may have been one of the highlights of my evening.
the beautiful bright sun that streams through my windows late in the day from about 6pm until sunset.
that I am a block away from the ocean and the sea wall.
my computer finally has its own den room, and...
